Before You Buy:
What you should know before buying a sunroom.
We're glad you are thinking about a sunroom and when you make your decision, you want to make the best choice. So...
- Not all sunroom companies have earned UL® classification for electric wiring. Would you want to live in a home where the electric system did not meet UL® requirements? We've passed the rigorous testing and approval process for UL® classification.
- Sunrooms designed for year round heating and cooling are eligible to earn the ENERGY STAR®. If you are considering a year round room, be sure the windows and doors are ENERGY STAR® qualified.
- Identify what permits are required and how they are processed. Find out who will schedule inspections required by your local building department.
- If subcontractors will be used on the construction, be sure they're fully insured and the sunroom company stands behind their work. Workers' comp. insurance is a big expense and many contractors don't want to absorb it, so they cut corners by hiring sub-contractors to do the installation. If an uninsured worker is injured on your property, you could bear the liability.
- It's the rollers that keep operation smooth for the long term. Our rugged steel rollers run on a stainless steel track and have a 15 year warranty.
